Anagram Helper
Stuck on a word puzzle? Type the letters you have and we'll show you every word they can build, longest first — with the answers hidden until you ask for one. Take a hint one group at a time, or reveal the lot at once.
2 to 20 letters. Spaces, hyphens and apostrophes are ignored, so Mary Jane works too. Faded words are real, but less common.
How to use it
- Type the letters you are holding — 2 to 20 of them.
- Set Must contain if you already know one letter is in the answer. The helper drops every word without it.
- Press Find words. Results are grouped by length, longest first, and the words are blurred.
- Reveal one group at a time to nudge yourself along, or hit Reveal all when you only want the answer.
The longest group comes first on purpose. If you are stuck on a seven-letter rack, the seven-letter answer is the one you are missing — the fours and threes underneath are usually plays you already saw.
Why the answers start hidden
Most word tools dump every result on you at once, which is fine when you want to check a guess and useless when you want to get better at the game. The helper keeps the answers behind a blur so you can take one hint, look away, and try again. If you would rather skip the game entirely, untick the box above and every word shows immediately — or press Reveal all after a search.
Helper, generator and solver
All three read your letters in any order. What differs is what you are holding and what you want back.
| Anagram helper | Anagram generator | Anagram solver | |
|---|---|---|---|
| You type | The letters in your rack | A word, a name or a short phrase | Any letters you hold |
| You get | Every play, longest first, answers blurred until you ask | Every word those letters form, perfect anagrams first | Every word you can build, with blank tiles and Scrabble scores |
| Built for | Getting unstuck without spoiling the game | Making something new from a finished word | Checking a rack and scoring it |
If you are rearranging a finished word rather than a rack, use the anagram generator. If you want the full list plus tile scores and blank tiles, the anagram solver is the one. Colour clues belong on the Wordle solver, a seven-letter hive on the Spelling Bee solver, and a shuffled puzzle word on the Jumble solver.
Which games it helps with
The helper treats your letters as a rack, so it works for any game where you hold letters and need a word: Scrabble, Words with Friends, Wordscapes, Text Twist, Boggle, and most word-jumble puzzles.
It searches from two letters up, which matters more than it sounds — in Scrabble and Words with Friends a two-letter word is often the only legal play that opens a blocked board. The Must contain box is there for the same reason: when you need to hook onto an existing letter, filter for it and the dead ends disappear.
Frequently asked questions
Why are the answers hidden?
Because a hint is more useful than a spoiler. The words are blurred until you press Show on a group, so you can take one look, go back to your game, and try again. Untick the box above if you would rather see everything at once.
What does Must contain do?
It keeps only words that include the letter you name. Type S and every result will have an S in it. If the letter is not in your rack, the helper tells you instead of returning an empty list.
Does it find two-letter words?
Yes. The search starts at two letters, so AI, EL and OS are all fair game — which is what you want when the board is tight and the only legal move is a two-letter play.
Is this the same as your anagram generator?
No. The generator starts from a complete word and rearranges its own letters, so listen gives you silent. The helper starts from a rack and finds every word you can play from it, whether or not it uses all your letters.
Does anything I type get sent anywhere?
No. The whole helper runs in your browser and keeps working offline once the page has loaded.
